Consider Content That Invites Discussion
Sometimes inviting discussion works on social media accounts, especially on platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter). We recently posted an image comparison of the original Blu-ray presentation of James Cameron’s Aliens with the upgraded and remastered 4k version. The comparison stirred up a conversation about AI-generated image processing vs. film grain. The post on X generated over 100 replies, 350 likes, and 134.k views.
There is a fine line between posting controversial content and misinformation and/or content with shock value. Consider your audience, brand, and investors… would they approve of the content? Does the content hurt the brand’s values? Does it fall outside the world you have created for that social media account?
Our advice? Be creative with the content you create but stick within the values of the brand. Otherwise, you may alienate your existing followers. Sure, you may gain followers looking for that type of content. However, will you continue to post content just for exposure? These are questions a good social media marketing strategy can answer.
